Vedic Chanting for Beginners Foundations
Vedic chanting is the practice of reciting mantras from the ancient texts of India. Chanting these mantras that have been preserved by a rigorous oral tradition, allows us to tap into vibrational wisdom that has been transmitted from teacher to student for thousands of years.
Vedic Chanting for Beginners is a live online 6-week course that gives a solid foundation, not only to chanting, but to the cultural context of the mantras that many Westerners may not be familiar with.
Chanting in Sanskrit can seem intimidating at first. In this course, we'll review the sounds in the Sanskrit alphabet, the basic principles of Vedic chanting, and six foundational mantras that you can use to establish a strong personal chanting practice.
This course includes:

learning the sacred syllables of the Sanskrit alphabet

understanding the dots and notations on English transliterations

the importance of breath and how to use it in pronunciation

"mouth yoga" to help with refinement of the sound

6 popular mantras taught through the traditional practice of adhyāyanam

foundational principles of Vedic chanting

6 live online classes with recordings if you cannot attend live

Translation, context and related mythology of the mantra
