Curious about who Ganesha is?

In the Vedic/Hindu tradition, the deities are called devas and devatas, "shining ones". They take on numerous names and forms with fascinating and symbolic stories detailing situations that show us their underlying qualities so that we can relate with them.

Beyond the mythology, we can dig deeper and realize that they are representing cosmic lines of intelligence that are not separate from us. When we understand their nature, we can connect with them to activate these qualities inside of ourselves.

This course gives a solid introduction to developing a chanting practice, as well as an introduction to six popular deities through their symbology and mythology. Throughout the our time together we'll explore how to work with these vibrational bodies of wisdom as allies on the path of our spiritual evolution.

Course Includes:

  • 6 live online classes w/recordings if you cannot attend live

  • learning the six foundational principles of Vedic chanting, including the sounds in the Sanskrit alphabet
  •  exploring five popular deities (see below) through their symbology and myths.
  • pronunciation and understanding of each deity's nama japa and gāyatrī mantra
  • practice recordings for each mantra
  • suggestions on how and when to use the mantras as a part of your daily practice

Meet the Deities

On the surface there are key words associated with each deva and devata to help us get a sense of the qualities each holds. As we continue to work with them through their mantras, a deeper vibrational understanding begins to reveal itself.

Ganesha is the beloved elephant headed deity associated with new beginnings, clearing obstacles, protection and thinking outside of the box.

Sarasvatī is the goddess of wisdom, learning, creative expression, patron of all arts, related to truth and how we express it.

Laksmī is often referred to as the goddess of manifestation and abundance, Lakshmi embodies all that makes this life worth living. She represents, harmony, unity, love of self and other, and we can also work with her to feel our own value and find reciprocity in our exchange of energy.

Durgā is the warrior goddess who has our back through all difficulties. She helps us to stand in the power of the divine feminine with unapologetic confidence.

Shiva is often regarded as pure consciousness. Often pictured in steady meditation, when he opens his third eye great transformation occurs. He has great healing abilities and reminds us to align with that which is eternal inside of us.

We'll learn about each deitiy through their symbology and stories as well as learn to chant their nama japa and gāyatrī.

"These practices are like the secret/hidden codes to override corrupt programs [in the mind]. Once you realize that you can access the code and re-write your own programs, you become the creator of your own reality."

I was not expecting to learn so much and thought at first that it was going to be too hard, but Sri Devi made learning easy and enjoyable. I loved learning to chant Vedic mantras and now know more about Sanskrit as well. Excellent course and excellent teacher. I’m very grateful to have taken this class.
